Contractors who handle property insurance claims have no shared record of which adjusters are fair, responsive, or slow to approve documentation. Each contractor relearns the same lessons alone, one claim at a time. Without a common history, there is no way to know what to expect from a given adjuster before working with them.

Overview

Adjuster Database is a global, community-built directory of insurance adjusters. Users search or add an adjuster and log structured claim reviews that rate responsiveness, fairness, and documentation burden. The system aggregates those reviews into approval rates, average ratings, and confidence scores, and detects likely duplicate adjuster entries. Reviews can carry file attachments, and inappropriate content is auto-flagged and routed to an admin moderation queue for approval, hiding, redaction, or deletion.

How it is built

An Express and Prisma backend on PostgreSQL exposes a REST API, with JWT authentication and file attachments handled through AWS S3 presigned uploads. A React and Vite single-page app styled with Tailwind CSS provides the search, review, and moderation interfaces. Stripe is wired for subscription billing and Resend for transactional email.
